Modern Tea presents "Modern Art" once again in October!
Opening Night is this Thursday October 4th, 6-9 p.m. at the former John's Hayes Valley Market at 580 Hayes Street near Laguna. This time we are bringing you Modern Tea artists alongside an extended array of local artists as well. Also, we are lucky enough to qualify as a group site during Open Studios this month. Our artists have put extra efforts into making this a very special show and we expect a lot of activity during Hayes Valley's Open Studio weekend, October 13 &14.
The gallery hours will be Tuesdays-Sundays in the afternoons & evenings. Once again "Modern Art" will have a silent auction to benefit the Hayes Valley Neighborhood Parks Group, whose efforts have been vital to the health of our local parks and in turn our community. Please help us support them by participating in our Silent Auction! The last day to bid will be at our closing party Friday night October 26th.

Fall Tea Selection
As the fall season arrives we are on the lookout for some of the more robust teas of the year: a rich Darjeeling, an excellent Ti Kuan Yin style oolong, and a new Elderflower Nectar to name a few. Also, during this season we are looking into offering some very exceptional teas in small quantites, for example our tea of the month, Oriental Beauty. Please let us know if there is something in particular you are interested in and we will sleuth for you.
Cooking With Neighborhood Youth
The more we delve into the possibilities, the more excited we get about teaching our neighborhood youth about food and cooking. We will announce our next steps as soon as we can. Meanwhile, if you see us with a group of kids in the kitchen on a Monday afternoon, please feel free to knock on the window and wave. If you are curious about what we've done in the past, click here.
